Rainy-day wine tasting at @amistavineyards in Dry Creek. Don’t cancel wine tasting plans because of rain - you’ll be rewarded with less crowds and beautiful vineyard views. Amista specializes in Rhône varietals and unique sparkling wines. You can choose between a sparkling wine or a still wine flight (we tried one of each). It was interesting and fun to compare the still and sparkling versions of each grape varietal. Our favorites were the still Grenache, Chardonnay and sparkling Syrah. Amista is a must-try for sparkling wine lovers and those looking to try something different. Cheers! 🥂🌧
Enjoyed Square Peg’s @squarepegwinery canned sparkling rosé overlooking one of my favorite views in Sonoma County! Really delicious for a canned wine - notes of raspberry, green apple, flowers.
Perfect sip of Zinfandel overlooking the Dry Creek Valley on a Friday afternoon 🍷👌🏼
@macrostiewinery has been on our list to go wine tasting for quite a while so we were excited to finally get a reservation last weekend. The tasting certainly lived up to the hype - incredible Chardonnays and Pinot Noir plus one Cabernet Sauvignon, all while looking out on a stunning view of the Russian River Valley. Generous pours as well, great value for a $35 tasting (waived with three bottle purchase). Couldn’t have been a better way to celebrate the first day of spring! 🥂🌷🌞
Holiday weekend wine tasting at Soda Rock Winery @sodarockwinery in Alexander Valley. Really lovely Rosé of Carignan, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are becoming big fans of the wineries in the Wilson family, which they are a part of. Laid back vibe in a barn built in the 1800s. Ironically, this barn survived while their main tasting room, which is made of stone, almost completely burned down in the Kincade fire of 2019. They lost most of their library wines in the fire as well. Some of the melted bottles are now used as decoration in the tasting room. Glad to see they have bounced back strong with a new tasting room in Healdsburg as well.
Highly recommend checking out @marinelayerwines in the Healdsburg plaza. They are a relatively new winery focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Their wines were all delicious, but the 2019 “Lyra” Pinot Noir seriously blew us away! The tasting room is also impeccably decorated, like something out of a magazine. Marine layer is open until 7pm every day so this is a great winery to stop by after work! 🌷☁️🥂
